I am originally from Lowell, MA and enjoy the history and changing seasons New England has to offer. I moved to Panama City, FL in 1994 and am now married to a wonderful woman and have 5 amazing and talented children.
I have been drawn to technology ever since I watched War Games as a kid. Soon after that, my school got an Apple IIe and I was hooked! My family never had the money to purchase a computer, although I asked for one every Christmas. It wasn’t until 1997 that I purchased my first computer, a Packard Bell 200Mhz machine with a 5GB hard drive. It’s amazing how much has changed since then.
Let me share a few reasons I feel you should hire me on your team:
I am a team player
I understand the importance of working as a team to accomplish goals. I am always willing to help out the team if someone is overloaded or out sick. Instead of complaining about things that make the job difficult, I try to come up with solutions to make things easier and the team more productive.
I enjoy teaching
I am the type of person who likes to share new things I have learned so that others can benefit from it as well. If I hear someone discussing a technology related problem they are having, I try to think of what software or utility would be most effective in helping their situation. This is part of the reason I stay up-to-date by reading tech articles and listening to several podcasts. I get excited when I can share a new tool or solution with someone who was not yet familiar with it.
I enjoy cultivating relationships
I enjoy networking with people via social media. There so many talented people around the world and social media makes it so easy to connect that it makes no sense not to reach out. After the initial contact, it is important to invest some time into the relationship if you want it to grow. I enjoy cultivating relationships by showing a genuine interest in friends blogs, projects, tweets, etc. It doesn’t take that much time if you block it out and work intentionally. With all the noise on the various social media platforms, it’s easy to lose track of people, so I think it’s really important to cultivate relationships you feel are important.
I have a strong work ethic
As a young boy, I grew up working with my father who was a contractor. I spent a lot of my childhood working on job sites, learning to behave professionally and developing an appreciation for a job well done. My father taught me the importance of hard work and honesty. He taught me not to cut corners and to give 110% on every job. Those values are still very important to me today.
